「から」の解釈(技術英語)

「表示灯Aを3秒on,3秒offから2秒点滅,2秒onに変更した。」
という文章について、です。
英語の問題ではなく日本語の解釈の問題です。

最初、「表示灯Aを、3秒on→3秒off→2秒点滅→2秒onに変更した」と解釈し、
We changed the indicator A so that it is on for three seconds, is off for three seconds, flashes for two seconds, and then is on for two seconds.
としました。
何となく不安になり、原文作成者に聞いてみたら、
「今は3秒on,3秒offとなっている表示灯Aを2秒点滅,2秒onになるように変えた」
という意味だと分かりました。
そこで、
We changed the indication method of the indicator A that was on for three seconds and then off for three seconds so that it flashes for two seconds and then is on for two seconds.
としました。

上の文だと、the indicator A自体を取り替えたようにも読めてしまうのでは？
あくまで、変更されたのは、the indicator Aの点灯方法か制御方法でしょ？
下記みたいのどうですか？

We changed a contol way of the indicator A from the turning-on for three seconds and then the turniｎg-off for three seconds to the flashing for two seconds and then the turｎing-on for two seconds.

本当ですね。
indicatorそのものを変えたという感じになってしまっています。
